South West Rocks

Jimmy and I headed up north towards Queensland for the weekend because he had his second triathlon. We stayed in a cabin on the water and not far from town at all. It was a cute little place. On Saturday we drove down and you all would be proud that I drove for about an hour each way! We went site seeing a bit and went to each lunch. We went to the lighthouse above and I finally saw my first Kangaroo! It was so exciting! I saw him from far away at first and then Jimmy said it was alright to go up closer. We got up to the other side of the car and that is when he stood up. He just hung out there for 30 seconds or so and then proceeded to put up his chest and scratch it. Jimmy said this would be a good time to start backing up. It was a little intimidating but I think he just wanted to be left alone. It was a great experience. On Sunday, we left the house around 6:20 am and went to Trial Bay which is where the race was being held. It was a little longer than last time and they actually canceled the swim leg because of the flooding that happened in the area. It made a lot of debris go in the water and sharks were being attracted to the water. For safety reasons, they added another run. Jimmy wasn't very happy about that, but it worked out in the end.
