Jill is coming to visit!
So my great couple of days continues because Jill just purchased a flight out to Australia. She will be staying for three weeks and was fortunate enough to get a flight back with me on the same plane. I am so excited! I am coming home in less than four months and Jill is coming out with me at the end of my time in the states. I have nothing to complain about. Oh, I just got another month extension at Hunter Water! Woo hoo!

Coming home...
I officially got a ticket home last night thanks to Jimmy. I am coming home on June 14th and bringing Jimmy with me. He will be staying two weeks and I will be home until July 7th. I am so excited! I know that I have only been away for 6 weeks or so, but that is a long time away from home. Now I can show him my side of the world and hopefully he falls in love with it. I doubt that will happen but we are going to give it a try! See you all in less than 4 months!

South West Rocks
Jimmy and I headed up north towards Queensland for the weekend because he had his second triathlon. We stayed in a cabin on the water and not far from town at all. It was a cute little place.
On Saturday we drove down and you all would be proud that I drove for about an hour each way! We went site seeing a bit and went to each lunch.
We went to the lighthouse above and I finally saw my first Kangaroo! It was so exciting! I saw him from far away at first and then Jimmy said it was alright to go up closer. We got up to the other side of the car and that is when he stood up. He just hung out there for 30 seconds or so and then proceeded to put up his chest and scratch it. Jimmy said this would be a good time to start backing up. It was a little intimidating but I think he just wanted to be left alone. It was a great experience.
On Sunday, we left the house around 6:20 am and went to Trial Bay which is where the race was being held. It was a little longer than last time and they actually canceled the swim leg because of the flooding that happened in the area. It made a lot of debris go in the water and sharks were being attracted to the water. For safety reasons, they added another run. Jimmy wasn't very happy about that, but it worked out in the end.

Not so sunny
What was I thinking?
I got home from work last week and went to go and get the mail. There was a card in there stating that there was a delivery attempt made for a package addressed to Jimmy and we could pick it up at the local post just a few blocks away. Trying to be helpful, I walked down to get the package. Now, just so you all know...Jimmy ordered a couple of things online. I obviously forgot about him ordering the 16 bottles of wine. Once I got to the post office, the lady looks at me and proceeds to ask if I have a car. I say no and her face is basically in shock. She then started talking about how heavy the box is so I pick it up to see...it was heavy but I was only holding it for a few seconds. I decided to sign for the package and take it home. It was going well until about 20 steps out of the post office where I was regretting my decision. I had to stop a few times along the way. Alright, more than a few...more like 10-15 because my arms were so tired! I finally made it home...sweating bullets mind you. Just to give you a picture of what 16 bottles of wine looks like here are a few pictures...
Oh did I mention that the box started to break on the bottom after those 20 or so steps? I had to tell Jimmy what happened and he told me that I make him laugh. When he got home and actually saw the wine and the box that I carried he said the visual was better and he laughed again.

1 Month down...many more to go
Today is exactly one month that I have been in Australia. It actually feels a lot longer for some reason. Overall I am doing pretty well I think. I do have my hard days that's for sure. Yesterday, I spoke with my dad for the second time since I left. It was only for a few minutes, but it made me a little sad. I had a break down as per usual. But, today when I got home I received my package that my parents sent to me. My mom put my Strawberry Shortcake doll in there. Somehow I think that from now on when I get homesick it won't be as bad.
Yes she is old...but she's been through a lot! Gotta love the Strawberry Shortcake! Thanks Mom.

Temp Work
I got a call from the temp agency last week and starting working for a company called Hunter Water in Newcastle. It is basically an agency that controls all of the water throughout Newcastle and I'm assuming more areas. Anyways, I was working as a filing clerk on Wed, Thurs, and Fri. Friday was my last day and I was bummed because with me using public transportation or my own legs to get to work, it was convenient with this place being within a mile of home. I got a call today saying they wanted me back and it could be up to a month. Woo hoo! Finally got some work underneath my belt. Exciting!
